The SEI’s 21st annual FloCon conference has been scheduled for March 4th-6th, 2025, at the SEI building in Pittsburgh. Registration and call for abstracts are now open: https://resources.sei.cmu.edu/news-events/events/flocon/
The conference topics are a great cross-section of topics that apply to this mailing list centered on the NetSA tools: security data engineering, threat analysis, data analysis, machine learning for cyber, big data, etc. The heart of the conference is still network data, but the scope has expanded to using any data to defend.
The call for abstracts will be open through December 20th. We’d love to get presentations from this group. If there any questions about topics or whether yours would be a good fit, don’t hesitate to reach out.
The NetSA team will be in attendance and of course available to discuss anything related to our tool suite.
Situational Awareness: Beyond the Network
With the enormous amounts of data from ever-expanding sources, how can we apply the power of scalable analytics to this large-scale data to protect our systems from cyber threats—both internal and external? This year's theme focuses on using these analytics to safeguard organizations and networks.
If you’ve attended FloCon before, welcome back! Network data analysis is still an important part of FloCon. Now you'll have the opportunity to share your work with a wider cross-section of data analysts and security professionals.
Thanks for reading and we hope to see you in Pittsburgh in spring of 2025.
